Whether the goal is to have a service dog or a loving member of the family, we provide you and your puppy with a personal and professional foundation. This is not only done through the actual training of your puppy, but also training you as the owner. Consistency is key to your puppy’s success, and as long as you are consistent with the program, both you and your puppy will reap the rewards of having a well-mannered dog!
Specialized Programs
It is far better to instill good habits in your dog while they are still young than breaking down bad ones when they are older. The beginning is the most time-consuming part of the training, and we take care of it for you. Along with the basic obedience commands and manners, our program includes proper early socialization, house/ potty training, crate training, and leash work — something unheard of in most board and train programs.
Any Breed Of Puppies
You don’t have to worry about a trainer that is unfamiliar with your breed of dog. From teacup puppies to Great Danes, we have experience with all breeds. We understand that each puppy is an individual and will need to be trained based on their specific needs and motivators. This is one of the main contributors to training to a standard instead of a strict timeframe. You can rest assured that your puppy will be ready to transition into your home when they finish our program.

Brad’s Bio
Hey there, my name is Brad Phillips, and I am the owner of Puppy Steps Training. I graduated from Utah State University in 2016, majoring in Natural Resources with an emphasis on wildlife. My passions are baseball and the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and backpacking. I have found that a good dog makes these things more enjoyable.
I have been training dogs since 2008 starting with my own dog Jake who I trained as a school project to be my hunting companion. Ever since working with him I found that training dogs was a skill that I was particularly good at. As well it is something I wanted to pursue. Dogs are remarkable animals with more potential than most people can imagine. I love to learn to techniques and see the many things that dogs can learn.
One of the most important things to me is providing a well-trained puppy to a good family. That is my reward. I have devoted many hours into making sure I have a quality facility, with superior trainers to share our incredible puppies with the world.
Skylar’s Bio
While studying Psychology at Utah State in 2016, I was looking into possible internships and stumbled across Puppy Steps Training. Through a miracle, I was able to intern and immediately fell in love. By another miracle, Brad decided to keep me on, and now here I am, Head Trainer and certified through two different programs. I have loved the journey and the passion it has bestowed.
I have three dogs of my own: Indi, Melvin, and Poppins. They come to work with me and assist in training. When we aren’t working, my favorite things to do with them are biking, hiking, and chilling all together on the couch. Without the furry posse, I teach yoga and rock climb.
I fill my trainees’ days with a blend of exercise, play, socialization, and command work. Oh, and naps. Puppies love naps. I love seeing my puppies progress and implementing individualized methods to get there. Build the relationship, set them up for success.
